TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE:“GARAGE FIND”. THIS PACKARD HAS NOT MOVED SINCE 1966. IT HAS BEEN STORED IN A GARAGE, NOT SEEN DAYLIGHT IN 46 YEARS. THE LAST TIME IT HAD PLATES WAS IN 1966 AND THEY ARE STILL ON THE CAR. THERE IS A 1968 NEWSPAPER LAYING ON THE SEAT. THIS IS EXACTLY HOW WE GOT THE CAR. WE HAVE NOT TRIED TO START IT OR CLEAN IT. THE OIL ACTUALLY LOOKS CLEAN. THE CLIPPER WAS A TOTALLY NEW AND UNIQUE DESIGN FOR PACKARD, DIFFERENT THEN ALL OTHER MODELS IN 1941. IT WAS A FOOT WIDER, AND HAD A DRAMATIC FLOWING SHAPE. A VERY SUCCESSFUL CAR BUT PRODUCTION ENDED ABRUPTLY AS MANU-FACTURING SHIFTED TO MILITARY VEHICLES FOR WORLD WAR II. THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT RESTORATION PROJECT BECAUSE IT IS ALL THERE. OR IT COULD MAKE A GREAT CANDIDATE AS A STREET ROD OR MILITARY VEHICLE.
