Say Hello to Molly........ She is an absolutely beautiful, very original 1946 Mercury 69M convertible with only 27900 Actual miles. When was the last time you saw one of these? At a cost of $1711, only 6044 Sport Coupe Convertibles were made in 1946 and very few of these post war beauties are left. Most of the remaining few, have been turned into HotRods, RatRods or Restomods. Not this one! This one has been beautifully restored to her original condition with no modifications at all. , Molly was found in a barn nearly 10 years ago by the previous owner who brought her back to life while keeping her originality in tact. The result is pure American history at its best. Over a 5 year period, Molly has been treated to a top shelf repaint in her original color which is now roughly 7 years old and still beautiful. Bumpers have been refinished bumpers and the old wool seating has been replaced by new leather. Everything else is exactly as it was in 1946. Instrument cluster, power top, engine and drive train are all original and in unbelievable condition. Some cars of this period did not come with a heater but this one did and it actually works. She starts easily on her original 6volt system. Her 239ci Flat-8 engine & manual 3 on the tree transmission can easily keep up with todays traffic at local and highway speeds. Everything is tight with no shaking or rattling at any speed. Forget even asking about rust because it is completely non existent. She rides smooth & straight on new radial tires and although she does not have power brakes, she stops easily with very little pressure needed. You really need to see and drive this car to appreciate the value of such an American work of art. The words, "they dont make them like this anymore", may very well have started here. There are nearly 90 photos here. We will let them do the rest of the talking... Enjoy! Go to fioremotorclassics for more photos & details.
