Few cars are more iconic than the early Ford Thunderbird 2-seater. This California-bred 1957 T-Bird roadster is one of the best weve ever seen, with a first-class restoration and a rather rare color combination thats 100% correct. If youre looking for a 57 T-Bird, THIS is the one to own. In an ocean of white and red T-Birds, this Coral Sand roadster will stand out from the crowd. Beautifully finished about 2000 miles ago, it still looks brilliant with a sunny 50s glow that is simply stunning in person. Finish quality is exceptionally good, and despite being two-stage urethane, this T-Bird looks highly authentic without that hard shine to the paint that so many over-restored cars get. As a California car, the quarter panels are laser straight and there is no evidence of rust in the usual locations around the rear wheel wells or behind the bumper. Panel fit is excellent, from the forward-tilting hood to the enlarged deck lid, which was new for 1957, along with the small pointed tailfins. Being a product of the 1950s, theres a lot of chrome, all of it restored to better-than-new condition so it glitters like jewelry. This is one awesome-looking Thunderbird. The code XK Colonial White deluxe interior has also been restored to show standards at a cost of over $10,000 and shows very little evidence of having been used at all. A lovely soft, off-white, the upholstery uses original patterns and materials for an exact match. The wonderful engine-turned inserts that stretch from end to end give the Thunderbird a sporty demeanor, and you cant help but feel like a million bucks when youre behind the wheel. Tan carpets help anchor the interior and keep it from being overwhelming, and theyre protected by a set of matching floor mats with lovely tan bindings around the edges. The original Town And Country radio lives in the dash and is still fully functional and all the instruments are brightly restored. Overhead, theres a new tan canvas convertible top that tucks neatly behind the seats, and a correct Colonial White hardtop and stand are included with the car. The optional D-code 312 cubic inch Y-block V8 is the cars original engine, fully rebuilt less than 2000 miles ago and dressed in the correct engine dress up kit with oil filter. Lovely finned valve covers are some of the most beautiful ever installed on a production car, and the chrome air cleaner inhales through the functional hood scoop. Finished in Ford Red, it offers correct hoses, clamps and fittings, a reproduction windshield washer bag, and new wiring throughout. This car also offers power steering and power brakes, as well as the crisp-shifting and completely rebuilt Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. As a California car, the chassis needed little more than a thorough cleaning, and youll be impressed by the level of original detail on this incredibly clean Bird. A new dual exhaust system features correct tips that exit through the rear bumper, and it rides on gorgeous Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire wheels wearing wide whitewall radials at each corner. Documentation includes a big stack restoration receipts that prove everything Ive already told you. The bottom line is that this is one heck of a Thunderbird that rises above the usual driver-grade cars you see everywhere else. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom.
