Flush with ambition after a successful turnaround from its late-40s doldrums, Ford management conceived a new line of cars to take direct aim at GM’s mid-market lineup that collectively sold almost 2 million cars in 1955. By the time of its introduction, however, Ford’s new Edsel Division faced a shrinking market that would seal its fortunes. The 1958 Pacer convertible offered here is sharply finished in two-tone Ember Red and Silver Grey, a pairing nicely accented by the Red and Gold spinner centers on its full-size hubcaps.
