This rare example has some interesting history. Delivered to William H. Porter Chevrolet in Newark DE on April 26, 1960, where William was the Sales Manager at the time and had special ordered the car. Ermine white and Inca silver coves, white soft top, hard top, pare power convertible top, and power windows. Approx. 5 % of the 1960 Corvettes were ordered with power windows and top. 283-245hp hydraulic lifters dual quads, 4 spd. synchro mesh trans., 4.11 Posi traction axle. Wonder bar radio, visors and windshield washer. He owned the car for approx. 6 mos., then the car was sold to someone in upstate NY on Sept 20, 1960 with only a few thousand miles according to the second owner who removed the orig. 283-245 and gave it to a friend who needed the engine for his station wagon! He had kept the dual quad set up and original air cleaner element, then searched out a 1965 327-350hp L-79 Corvette motor and rebuilt it to the 365hp specs, solid lifter cam shaft 4 barrel intake. The car has 95% of its original paint, only minor touch up in the rear of the car. Totally original chrome bumpers, trim, orig. stainless and bright work that looks fantastic. All the glass is original, including the windshield. Beautiful original interior except the drivers seat, lower seat section has a tiny tear. Brilliant red dash and instrument cluster, still looks new! Wonderbar radio, power top...works perfectly. Factory carpeting, door panels, factory shifter with orig. white knobs, exceptionally nice orig. weather strip with all the factory glue. New white conv. top. The hardtop is completely original and considered orig. condition. 65,350 actual miles on this no hit body that shows well. Super nice under carriage and frame. Recent new exhaust system, nice tight front end, all orig. suspension and front end components. We have the correct alum 2x4 intake, rebuilt and restored dual 4 Carter carbs, fuel lines, glass fuel bowl, linkage and orig. air cleaner element. Although this car does not come with the original #s matching motor, it would make an excellent candidate for a correct dated restored motor. The 2nd owner kept the car until 7-27-09 then sold to the 3rd owner in Binghamton NY. A true car guy, this Corvette has been well cared for and maintained, (we have known about this one since 2009). Drives well, great acceleration, everything works including the Wonderbar. Only 488 built with this color combo, 544 were built with PW and 512 had the rare hydraulic folding top mechanism. This car is way better than a 10 footer. Comes with warranty booklets, orig. servicing, Corvette engines and R.P.O. equipment manual, 1960 owners manual, sales brochure, orig. dated pamphlet, orig. Wonderbar radio operating instructions and electronically wound clock instructions, also, all names of previous owners. This rather special Corvette is collectible in the collector car world. Sweet! Price reflects included dual quad set up.
