318 bhp, 389 cu. in. V8 engine, “Tri-Power” three two-barrel carburetors, four-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension with unequal-length A-arms, coil springs and stabilizer bar, live rear axle with control arms and coil springs, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 124" • A national level, multiple trophy winner • Highly equipped with Tri-Power, four-speed and 29 factory options • A complete body-off restoration In 1954, Pontiac launched the Bonneville name on a pair of futuristic GM Motorama concept cars that were dubbed “Bonneville Special.” In 1957, the Pontiac Bonneville Convertible was introduced as a limited-production model based on the top-of-the-line Star Chief with Rochester fuel injection. Just 630 were produced, and with their Cadillac-level price exceeding $5,000, the Bonneville name emerged as Pontiac’s image leader. For 1959, the Bonneville became a full top-of-the-line series of its own. That same year, Pontiac also introduced its famed “Wide Track” chassis layout, which created the best-handling full-size cars in the industry. From this point, Pontiac firmly established itself as GM’s high-performance division with scores of victories on NASCAR ovals and drag strips alike, gaining valuable press and rapidly growing sales in local showrooms everywhere. This striking 1960 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible received a complete body-off restoration with the stunning results seen here. It is a multiple national-level award winner, with an impressive string of awards from such organizations as the Pontiac-Oakland Club International, the AACA and others. It is finished in Coronado Red metallic with a matching interior and is equipped with a powerful 389 cubic inch Tri-Power V8 and a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission. Among its impressive 29-item option list, the Bonneville is equipped with air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, a power top, power windows, eight-lug wheels with integral brake drums, a Safe-T-Track differential with a performance axle ratio and much more. As offered, this Bonneville is not only gorgeous to look at; it drives like a dream and never fails to attract an appreciative crowd wherever it goes. It is without question one of the finest restored examples in existence today.
