1962 Chevrolet Corvair 95 Rampside: Pure White/Monaco Blue/Blue * Rare & Unique! * Fewer Than 18,000 Sold New * Rampside Loading * Air-Cooled Flat-Six Motor * 4-Speed Manual Transmission * New Motor * New Clutch * Of the nearly 2,000,000 Corvairs produced by Chevrolet between 1960 and 1969, fewer than 2% of these were in this body style, making it, one of the most coveted and collectible models. Interest in these vehicles has gained considerable ground since NBC's Jay Leno completed a $60,000+ restoration on his 1963 Rampside. This is one of the cleanest, best-running, daily driver examples of this truck in existence. Featured in GM-correct Pure White with Monaco Blue trim, this truck is a real eye-catcher. The exterior was repainted in 1990 and has minor scratches and touch-up flaws. The right rear corner has a horizontal crease dent on the lower fender and two dents. The rear bumper has a small dent and chrome pitting. The bedrail features several scratches as well. The left rear corner reveals poor bodywork performed years ago with body filler chips. The magnetic signs on the sides have ruined the paint finish underneath and rusted. This truck does have a very small amount of visible rust, primarily along the bottom of the driver door, cab roof support, below the grill in front, and behind the bumper. All the glass is in good shape, with minor separation visible in the bottom of both door vent windows. Replacement glass is included. The rims are period-correct but slightly wider than the stock 14 rims and tires that came on the truck. The original rims can be put on the vehicle if desired. Restored in 2004, the interior is in great condition. The seat cover doesn't have any rips or tears and the carpet has been made with correct materials, bound on all sides and equipped with a matching heel pad. The dash cluster was replaced with that of a Corvair Monza Spyder which adds useful tach and engine head temperature gauges. Mechanically, the Corvair is fantastic! Despite its relative rarity, all key drivetrain, electrical, and suspension components are common and easily obtained. This truck has a completely rebuilt early (1960-1964) Corvair engine with approximately 9,000 miles on it. It starts and runs well and is extremely reliable. The four-speed manual transmission runs smoothly and the clutch was replaced in 2009. At Auto Group of San Antonio, we represent and sell some of the nicest pre-owned luxury vehicles on the market.
