After i sold my '62 continental hardtop, i said i wouldnt sell my next one; if by some miracle i got another. But my financial situation makes keeping it unjustifiable! , Ive owned it for about 3 months, invested several grand in cleaning it up and refreshing it. The car does still need some attention in areas i have not had time to check out or restore., This is a list of new parts i have replaced within the last 3 mo., BRAKES and SUSPENSION-, Brake Booster, master cylinder, soft lines, brake hardware, shoes, brake wheel cylinders, and vaccuum lines., Monroe Sensa Trac shocks front and rear, and tires., AIR AND FUEL-, Airtex electric fuel pump, fuel filter, Edelbrock 750 with electric choke, air cleaner, fuel filler cap; also dropped the tank clean inside and Red coated the inside. New throttle springs, and linkage. , ENGINE-, Valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets, intake expansion plugs, all belts, coolant hoses, fuel hoses, battery, starter solenoid, spark plugs, Accel plug wires, Pertronix points conversion, and Accel coil., OTHER-, Headlights, tail light lenses, have a full set of '63 hub caps; but wheels are from a '66. I also have 3 '66 hub caps. I have an extra tail light bezel, and 2 of the inside clear lenses. I have a bunch of window switch parts and pieces, but not a full set of functional switches in car., I have tested the electical functions of the trunk seal parts and the rear panel that is attached to the trunk lid, and all function properly., I have tested the window functions, the front driver and passenger function properly, the front pass vent window functions properly. The driver vent window, and rear windows do not function properly; but i can hear a clicking sound like its a bad solenoid., The seats were not conditioned for a long time, and were dried out; so i have been conditioning them regularly hoping to soften them up. Because of them being dried out, the driver bottom is seperated in a few spots at the seam stitch. The rear seat has a 1 1/2" slit on the corner of bottom cushion. One of the sunvisors needs to be restored, because it looks like it got wet; and the structural material inside is deformed., Some of the inside chrome windshield trim has some surface rust spots, and may need to be resurfaced and chromed. Door panels have usual small blemishes and stains, but nothing major., I have not had time to test the convertible top functions, one of the mounts for the convertible top cylinder looks like it is slightly bent and one of the ears are broken; seems like a simple fix. I have tested the valves, and they seem to open and close; but have not messed with the pump or relays. , The radio does not work, and the ant is broken. All chrome trim seems to be in place, does have some small dings and scratches; and one big ding in chrome trim by driver window., Mufflers and exhaust piping are rusted out, mufflers were removed and junked. Body has no visualable signs of any bad rust, but would need to be takin down to the metal, primed; and painted., Dash and components are in good shape, i replaced ignition switch; but accidently broke the new one. So it will need another installed., I have not messed with the a/c or heat, but looking around the engine bay by the a/c blower; there are some signs of heat. Some hoses are melted, some vacc lines are missing; and blower may not function., I have all original parts that i removed, like 4 barrel carb, fuel pump, etc., Car cranks and runs good, but will need some tuning, and some vaccuum lines replaced. Also included is a cd-rom compiled with most service manuals and repair manuals published from Lincoln and other companys.
