Fully documented by Pete McCarthy. The LAST Pontiac Super Duty ever built and the ONLY lightweight Super Duty Catalina hardtop with the 421cid/390hp NASCAR engine. It was special-ordered by Indy racer Johnny Mauro to race Pikes Peak, with a unique-for-a-Super Duty combination of the lightweight drag racing body but heavy duty NASCAR frame and homologation 4bbl along with 8-lug wheels and finned aluminum racing brakes for better handling. And, it was a unique, covert May build after the January 1963 implementation of GMs directive to cease all racing activities. The build sheets even say: MAURO SPEC RUSH. It is painstakingly restored by previous owner, Floyd Garrett, with every single part down to the wiring and the shocks remaining factory original in what amounted to an elaborate repaint, detailing, and head job. The original short block has never been apart. For more info, contact DAVID BRUSKI at 425-503-0980. See over 90 photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/parkplaceltd/. Note: car not on premises.
