The 1963 Volkswagen Beetle is most famously known for its role in the Disney film, "Herbie." The Volkswagen Beetle is the longest running and most manufactured car in the world. The Beetle is known for its rear located, air-cooled four cylinder, boxer engine. The front bonnet, as well as, behind the rear seat, both provide ample storage. This Volkswagen features a four speed manual transmission. It maintains its original interior, while not perfect, there are not any holes or tears in the interior, just a couple of seams that have seperated. The headliner is also the original headliner. The Beetle does have new carpet, and has been repainted in its factory color of Turquoise. The interior features painted metal surfaces, a metal dash, adjustable front seats, a fold-down rear seat, front windows with pivoting vent windows, heating via air-to-air exchange manifolds operating off of the engines heat. The car's history can be traced back to the original owner. The car was purchased new by Albert Scates of Texarkana, TX. It was transferred to his wife in April of 1967. Vera sold the car on October 6, 1987. Upon our receipt of the Volkswagen, it still maintained its original Texas title from April 25, 1967- which a copy of will be provided. Unfortunately, the original title had to be forfeited to obain an Ohio Motor Vehicle Title. The odometer on the car shows 17.062 miles. There is no way to verify the mileage as actual, as odometer statements were not recorded on any of the transactions on the Texas title. The floor boards, spare tire well, front bonnet, wheel wells, are all rust free. Engine compartment is immaculate. The car is a solid car. Having spent its entire life in Texas, and never being subjected to the MIdWest harsh winters, you can enjoy and drive this car. It is mechanically sound, and its unique color combination make it a conversation piece, as well as, a crowd pleaser.
