1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport, This is not just any Buick Riviera. This is a rarely seen Buick Riviera Gran Sport with the original LX engine code. A very rare sight. She has just 54000 miles. Fully optioned with power everything, AC and much more but options are not the reason to own a Gran Sport. The Gran Sport is famous for its optional 425ci 360hp LX code Super Wildcat dual quad engine pushing 465lbs of torque. This car still retains that original matching numbers engine. She also has her original drive train and one of the best transmissions ever made. Clam shell hide-a-way headlights, real wood grain interior, dual exhaust and on and on. 34586 Rivieras were built in '65 but under 2000 were Gran Sports. , A restored Gran Sport can bring some serious money. Earlier this year, a '65 Gran Sport sold for over $89000 at auction. A second sold for over $65000. Currently, this car is NOT in the condition it would take to get that kind of money. This car is in need of a good body shop. This PA car has been in storage for over 12 years. Rust has taken its course on this car however, with the proper body & restoration, this car will be a collectors dream. Surprisingly, the interior and engine are in incredible condition. , What does it need? To be brief and straight forward; BODYWORK! There is some surface rust on the body panels but the biggest issues are with the undercarriage. Floor boards and rockers have rust and rust through in some areas. Detailed photos will show the extent of the rust. We would love to have this car restored at our dealership but this kind of bodywork is more than we can handle. , If you can get past the bodywork project, you will have a hell of a car. The interior is in excellent condition. Dash, seating and door panels are all in excellent condition. All gauges work as does the speedometer & odometer. A/C blows cool but not cool enough. All electronics work fine. The radio is not the original but everything else is! , , The engine runs great and needs very little. , Clam Shell headlights are not working. The opening bracket on the drivers side headlight is broken and the headlight motor is inoperable.
