Very rare color combination! Same owner for the last 14 years! Fully documented history from new! All records, title copies, and service records included! Great Buy!! Without question, the turning point for Corvette came about in the sports car scene when the 2nd generation was introduced in 1963. A revised chassis brought about a 4-wheel independent suspension, and as the years progressed; larger wheels were introduced, larger big block motors, and 4-wheel disc brakes! Amenities like power steering, air conditioning, and leather seats didn’t hurt sales either with more buyers ready to park one in their garage! These cars are arguably the most coveted of Corvettes amongst collectors worldwide! We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer a car not unfamiliar with our showroom from years past, and will be representing this 1966 Corvette Convertible for the second time since 1998. This fully documented convertible in finished in code-correct Tuxedo Black over rare White and Blue combination interior! It sold new from Don Essen Chevrolet located here in St. Louis in 1966 and traded hands throughout the area amongst Corvette enthusiasts its entire life! All records and ownership documentation will be provided to the next owner. The mileage today reads just 97,003 miles which is believed to be actual, and largely documented through original titles and service records. Options on this example include original and numbers matching 327ci/350 horsepower V8 mated to the close ratio Muncie 4-speed transmission, and Posi-Traction rear end! All major components remain date code correct and numbers matching! The only exception would be the rear end gear ratio. Although the housing is original and indicating this Corvette started with a 4.11, today it uses a 3.73 installed by the most recent owner in March of 2000 for better highway manners. Other features include knock-off wheels, factory side exit exhaust, carpeted floor mats, wood steering wheel, and upgraded Custom Sound radio in the stock location. It was last repainted in 1990, and has been cosmetically and mechanically maintained on an as-needed basis over the years. Most recently with the former owner, servicing included rebuilt brake calipers and new pads, new clutch assembly, all new interior carpeting with insulation & new mats, suspension bushings, fresh fluids, rebuilt carburetor, and much more! The car does showcase some typical lacquer cracks in the paint from age, but does not steal away from an overall very straight, no hit body! It runs and drives excellently and has been carefully maintained by its current owner of 14 years. Always stored in a climate-controlled environment, and never driven in inclement weather, it makes for an excellent collection piece! It was last concours judged by the National Council of Corvette Clubs in 1991 scoring 98.63%! This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a beautiful, number’s matching Corvette in a very rare color combination! We encourage all prospective buyers to visit our showroom to see this car in person! And, as always, you are welcome to call with any questions! Thanks for looking!
