When you build a car for yourself, you tend to spend extra on the things that matter. This 1967 Chevelle convertible is a great example of a car that was built for love, not while watching the bottom line on a balance sheet. The '67 Chevelle is just about the ideal muscle car: big enough to handle a big block and carry enough friends to make things interesting, but not so big that it forgets how to dance. This Marina Blue ragtop shows you all the other styling tricks that make the '67s so popular with collectors, too: clean, chiseled body lines, those gorgeous taillights, and a simple full-width grille that focuses on clean lines rather than overworked glamour. The sheetmetal is extremely straight and clean on this Chevelle, with even those massive rear quarter panels showing evidence of hours of hard work sanding, straightening, and finishing the panels to near-perfection. The original hood with its cool trim inserts that look like air intakes is a nice touch in this world of aftermarket cowl-induction pieces, and you'll appreciate a car that knows what's under the skin is more important. The interior is put together just the way you'd do it, including beautifully upholstered buckets and a gorgeous center console stuffed full of Muncie 4-speed. There were a variety of patterns and colors available in the Chevelle, but basic black always looks right. New carpets and door panels add to the showroom-fresh look, and the builder obviously took great pains to maintain originality while improving function. For example, the original gauges remain intact, but a column-mounted tachometer and a trio of auxiliary gauges You'll also note the console sports an accessory clock, and the original radio is still in the dash, with a new Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in its own pod underneath. No original dashboards were harmed in the making of this awesome Chevelle. There's a power top overhead for those times when you just can't avoid the rain, and the trunk is finished with a new mat and matching spare tire. Big power comes from big engines, and the L78-spec 396 under the hood has been recently built and detailed for show. Upgrades include an Edelbrock intake and a Holley carburetor, all fed by a trick new fuel system. Chevy Orange paint looks fresh, and the bright chrome valve covers and air cleaner wear reproduction decals for a factory-correct look. This Chevelle also includes power steering and brakes, a massive aluminum radiator, and a set of torque-enhancing long-tube headers that dump into a Flowmaster exhaust system. You'll note that the undercarriage is clean and rust-free, and offers a very stock set of parts that will be a snap to maintain. Handsome Rally wheels wear fat 225/70/15blackwalls for a subtle presentation that never goes out of style. Nothing gets more respect on the street than a big block, and when it's wrapped in a Chevelle this pretty, folks tend to notice. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom.
