Real RM21H9 69 Road Runner coupe. Serial number on dash, fender tag, core support and all body numbers match to verify that it is an original car. I do not have the original engine or transmission. This is an R4 red car with black vinyl top, black interior and hood stripe treatment. I don't have the correct build sheet to identify which tires and wheels came on the car. It is a very solid body that had minimal outer sheet metal rust behind the rear wheels, and has been repaired correctly. It is presently sitting in primer and awaiting its turn through the body shop. Has been sitting in primer after being soda blasted for 7 years. Primer ought to be good and cured by now., , The fender tag indicates that the car was built late in the 69 model year (July 2nd 1969), and has the A14 'Spring Special' package which includes: A01 light package, power brakes, sure grip rear end, 3 speed wipers and power steering. This car has apparently been changed to manual steering and brakes. It also came with a bench seat and column shift for the auto, but previously has been upgraded to bucket seats with headrests and a console, with the correct steering column to match. The black interior for this car needs nothing before going back together after paint. Rear end is a 323 sure grip in an 8-3/4 with 11" drum brakes. There is a complete 3" exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and correct rectangular chrome tips, and has an H pipe. We have removed the front suspension, steering and K frame prior to its trip to the body shop. Front end ball joints, tie rod ends and bushings have been replaced, and it retains its original drum brakes. Grille and all exterior stainless/chrome pieces have been straightened and polished and are show quality. , , Haven't really decided specifics on the engine other than it will be an era-correct 383 in basically stock configuration. It will have a stock rebuild on the transmission, and together with a somewhat 'normal' 383 this should provide a dependable, predictable drive train for all-purpose use. This is a car that we can custom build for someone. The direction we are going with it at this point is back to as close to stock as possible, with the exception of manual steering and brakes. It has a fresh air hood that it was not optioned with, as well as the correct buckets and console replacing the bench. Seems that these two changes are something that most folks want on Road Runners, even if they didn't come equipped with them, so we are building it with them. At this point, the car could get a color change from R4 to whatever a buyer wants, different engine and trans combination (how about a Hemi and a 5-speed?), or disc brakes. The possibilities are endless. , , As the car sits, with all the pieces and you assemble how you want $14000. Call for details if you are thinking of having a custom built car to your specs., 620-364-8200
