1969 Pontiac Firebird This 1969 Silver Bird is a Head Turner! The Power Train was all gone through by a Professional Pontiac Mechanic / previous Owner of the Car 455 Big Block churns out plenty of Horse Power The Exhaust still has the new tone sound The cam talks to you! The Automatic Transmission is Smooth The Rear End definitely speaks "Pontiac Torque" The Silver Color is Radiant and just the right Color of Silver. Perfect choice for this body style The interior seats were done by "Garland Upholstery" A soft and Comfortable insert, instead of the standard vinyl that came in the cars. The Eagle (Bird) side Marker lights up, as well as the round side marker, when the lights are on. You know it is a Firebird. I think of this as a Sweet Integrated Feature by Pontiac. The sister Camaro, was plainer, compared to the Firebird. Another thing Pontiac did that was a big plus: They stayed with the straight dash pad and round gauges, just as Chevrolet and Pontiac had offered in their previous 1967 and 1968 cars. Chevrolet went to a cheaper lay out in my opinion in 1969. I own a 69 SS Camaro, so I know the difference. I prefer the dash and gauges of the '69 Firebird. Over time, the quality really shows. Info: 1967, 1968, and 1969 Camaros and Firebirds are known as the First Generation or "First Gen" Camaros and Firebirds. The 1969 took on a big change, while the 1967 and 1968 were similar. The Vent Glass was dropped in 1968 and the tail lights received a separation in the lens area instead of the solid chrome surrounding the lens. The changes were subtle, and some people do not know the difference. That is okay. The '69 is a stand alone year model and sought after both in the Camaro and Firebird. GM did Good!
