This absolutely gorgeous and perfectly done 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS has been enthusiast owned, built, and driven., This car was featured in shows and magazines, including Muscle Car Milestones in 2009. As expected this car has won awards at Super Chevy Shows ans well as NSRA shows. This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was also featured in the Goodguys year book TWICE! The frame off restoration was done right with absolutely no expense spared. This car comes with all the receipts for all the work done showing tens of thousands of dollars in custom work., The restoration was performed by NBS Performance. The frame is powder coated silver to match the car and was done by Lasker Powder Coating. The suspension includes powder coated tubular A arms up front as well as control arms in the rear and all from BRM Fabrication. Over sized sway bars were added with 1.5 up front and a 1 in the rear along with QA1 shocks and new 13 Wilwood 4 piston disc brakes on all four corners. This bad SS sits on Centerline Galaxy Custom wheels wrapped in Nitto 450 tires that have excellent tread on them. The owner does have the stock wheels as well. This car rides on a custom air bag system that was provided by Enhanced Concepts of Clearwater, Florida and custom mounts were created for all four air bags. There is a custom fitted nitrogen bottle in the trunk that works the bags., Lets get to the business end of things under the hood. The original 396 has been professionally gone through by the masters at Nelson Competition in Pinellas Park, Florida. The engine was bored to a 409 and the short block was equipped with 10:1 Diamond Racing Pistons, Clevite bearings and ARP rod bolts. Valve train upgrades includ Comp Cams Murtha Thumpr Hydrollic roller cam, 7-16 push rods and Competition Pro Magnum roller rockers. Edelbrock aluminum heads were ported to match the Edelbrock air gap intake to ensure the best breathing possible. A holly Pro Series 750 Carb sits on top of this beast and the fuel is delivered via a Holley high flow mechanical fuel pump. This 1970 Chevelle SS can run on 92 octane. A MSD Pro Billet distributor was installed as well as a 6AL ignition box provides all the proper spark. All of this exits out 2.25 ling tube headers into an X Pipe and going through Spin Tech mufllers. This motor out performs the original for sure putting out a whopping 602 HP at 6200 RPMs., All of this power is shifted through a Tremec TKO 5 speed tranny with a Centerforce clutch and pressure plate and all is protected by a Lakewood scatter shield. All of this runs out to a Detroit Truetrac differential fitted with strange axles and 3:73 gears., There is so much more that we could mention about this car but there just isnt enough room.
