1970 Ford Ranchero Gt. 95,407 miles showing on the odometer, California, clear title. Equipped as follows: 351 V8, automatic, air, power steering, power brakes. New body style Ford Mustang wheels (like new condition). Bed cover, factory am radio, & cb radio. Condition as follows: This car was a trade in to me. This car is a typical example of how somebody gets screwed. When I first saw the car it was running, and sounded very healthy. I was told that the engine was completely rebuilt. Well I took the car in on trade, had it towed here and upon arrival it would not even run. The guy played dumb, when I drilled him on the issue. I towed it to my mechanic and was informed that the guy that rebuilt the engine should of been shot. Nothing was done right. A long story short and $2,500 dollars later it is correct now, and freshly gone through. The motor is pretty much stock with the exception of oversized pistons, in the engine and a new header dual exhaust system, that was installed by the previous owner. The restoration of the car has been started. The underbody of the car is super clean and all blacked out. The car had been repainted with a color change, at one point in its life. I believe the original color of the car is green. The paint work that was done to the car was not good. However the car is super straight and solid, being the car was from California. The car needs a complete paint job to do it correct. Both the front and rear bumpers look decent but have some rust pitting on them, and a couple of small dings in the metal. The lower valance just below the front bumper is bent up a little. There is an extra one with another bumper that is different than whats on the car, and some other odd pieces that are in the bed of the unit. The hood has severe flaking on it, lots of fade in the tops of the fenders and roof. The sides of the car look pretty good, maybe a small door ding here and there, but very straight and solid. The inside of the bed again is very solid, with some scratches and small dings in it. The only bad area on the entire vehicle is the top edge of the rear tail gate which is rusted through. The interior is super clean with the following problems. The top of the dash pad is cracked, just on the drivers side half of it. There is an aftermarket carpet matching pad that is on the car. The rear view mirror needs to be attached to the windshield. One 50 cent piece sized bad spot on the drivers side door panel inside grab handle. The headliner on the drivers side rear is starting to come down a little (just glue back up). The rest of the interior is super clean. I would have to say that the carpet had to of been replaced as it is like new. Under the hood really nothing needs to be done as far as detail unless you are super fussy. Mechanically the engine as previously stated is new, so it runs perfect, and sounds very healthy. Brakes, & transmission seem great. Tires and exhaust as previously stated are new as well. No leaks and the car drives straight down the road. The head, and running lights do work, but the electric flip open doors do not. The plastic grating that goes on the left head light door is missing. The AM radio, dash clock and the air conditioning do not work. Everything under the hood for the air conditioning is there. Everything else even the horn still works on the car. With a little bit of body repair, and some paint this could be a beautiful very hard to find collectible car. I have seen these pieces in real nice shape bring well over 20K. So here is your chance to own a hard to find Ranchero GT. I have the original owners manual that goes with the car.
