The AMC Pacer is a two-door compact automobile produced in the United States by the American Motors Corporation between 1975 and 1980. Its initial design idea was started in 1971. The cars unusual rounded shape with massive glass area greatly contrasted with the three-box architecture with square boxy designs incorporating upright grilles and slab-sides of the era.The Pacer was described as the seventies answer to George Jetsons mode of transportation at a time when Detroit was still rolling out boat-sized gas guzzlers. The large amount of glass led Car and Driver to dub it The Flying Fishbowl. The Pacers jellybean body style is a readily recognized icon of the 1970s. A more upscale edition of Pacer the D/L was available for the entire run of the car. This package was more luxurious including originally a Navajo-design seating fabric and a wood grain instrument panel as well as a few interior features that were optional without it. The exterior received additional chrome accents different wheel covers and identification badging. This particular 1977 AMC Pacer DLis a 50000 original mile car that has spent its entire life in California. Outside the paint looks great and appears to have been resprayed in its original color of yellow with wood grain paneling. All of the trim is in very good condition with on pitting or major damage to be found anywhere on the car. The wood gain on both sides is in very good condition with no fading showing. The front and rear bumpers are equally as nice with no damage showing to either. All of the windows are free of cracks or chips and are factory tinted. Inside the seats and door panels have both been reupholstered and look great. The carpet appears to be original for the car and is in good original condition. There is no cracking to the dash or steering wheel. All gauges are in good working order along with the lights blinkers horn and radio which has the optional 8 track and still works! The 258 Cu In inline 6 cylinder under the hood runs great and is connected to an automatic transmission that performs without issues. This is an A/C car that does blow but not ice cold. It may be in need of a recharge. The engine compartment is very clean and original and shows no signs of damage. On the road the car drives like a 50000 miles car should. Very straight and true with all the power that these Pacers are known for! The wheels are all in very good condition and are wrapped with BF Goodrich radial tires. The mileage currently shows 50579 and the VIN number is A7A687C102868. The car is being sold on a clean California title.
