This is the top-of-the-line offering in 1979 for American luxury, the Cadillac Seville with the Elegante options. With 48,900 miles this Cadillac has been exceptionally well cared for and is a spectacular example of a survivor luxury car.Everything operates as it should and it has been well cared for in one of the most exclusive classic car collections in San Diego. This is handsomely presented in its original livery of Code 90 Slate Firemist and Code 19 Sable Black. This features the Code K Black Accent Paint Stripe and had the luxurious Code 133 Slate Gray interior. The Elegante option was $2,600 over the normal Seville, which added to the exclusivity of the motorcar.About the Elegante-The Seville Elegante offered Cadillac customers qualities and refinements one might expect on a custom-crafted automobile. The duo-tone exterior finish was offered in just two color combinations, a subtle dignity exclusive to the Elegante. A full-length brushed chrome upper body molding accentuated the Seville's classic lines, and featured an etched black grooving for added distinction.Authentic chrome-plated Wire Wheels (not wheel covers) with long-laced spokes were supplied by Dunlop, a British firm, and set the Elegante apart from others. A Cadillac crest appeared on the hubs, set against a black background. A unique rear window molding provided additional detailing.Inside the Elegante, a Seville interior like no other. Sierra Grain Leather in Antique Gray appeared on the seat bolsters, and breathable, perforated leather inserts were used in the pleated center cushion and seatback areas. A border of soft, suede-like trim surrounded the pleated areas. The front seats were 40/40 Dual Comfort seats, and provided storage pockets on the seatbacks for the convenience of rear seat passengers.A functional console separated the front seats, and included a rear floor courtesy light, and a light in the storage compartment, which had provisions for writing tablet and pen, a mobile telephone installation, and storage of 8-track tapes and other personal items. Driver and front passenger share a center, fold-down armrest for comfort. The interiors were color coordinated to the exterior duo-tone paint Slate Gray/Sable Black/Slate Gray colors. For 1979, Cadillac introduced a plush Tangier carpeting in the Elegante. Tangier had the look and feel of fine fur, and is an incredibly luxurious floor covering. The Sevilles were offered with the 350 V-8 (5.7L) and displaced about 180 HP with a three-speed automatic transmission. It is very rare to find a Cadillac Elegante and rarer still to find one in such remarkable condition with such low mileage and all original. This is a true survivor and is ready to tour, use daily or for show. For more information please contact Harry at 951.901.5088 or email us at harry@classicpromenade.com.
