Hello,, , My number is 765-456-1788, feel free to call if you have any questions. You can also email me by replying to this ad., , This is a very clean low mileage 1979 MG MGB with 60,587 miles. The car has averaged less than 2000 miles per year, that's really low considering most average drivers put 8000-10000 miles per year on a "weekend" vehicle., , I took this car in on trade from an attorney in Indianapolis. He had owned more then 5 MG's and told me everything he knew about this car. He only drove it on nice days and had the car parked in the garage when not driven. He spend several thousand dollars on necessary preventive maintenance to keep the car in great condition. The invoice for all the work done is in the glove box, the following things were done to the car during his ownership: New fuel tank, New fuel tank sending unit, Undercoating the new fuel tank, New gas tank mounting kit, Replaced brake lines, new ignition switch & new wiring front and rear., , There are no mechanical issues with the vehicle, you are welcome to have the vehicle inspected by your own mechanic as well., , Mechanically, I normally have my vehicles for about a week before I put them up for sale. This allows me enough time to drive every single vehicle for a couple days before I get them serviced. I like doing this because it gives me a great idea on the mechanical / cosmetic condition of the car. This is the first MG that I have had and what a fun little car it is. I put about 60 miles on, 20 was in town and about 40 highway miles. The car starts very good in the morning, it does not take long at all for it to crank and idle, takes about 3-4 seconds and it fires right up. On a cold morning I pull the choke out a little while cranking the car, it takes a few more cranks but starts right up and idles great. The engine does not make any abnormal noises, sounds just like any other MG does and it idles smooth when in neutral and it accelerates without any hesitation or jerking. The transmission feel nice and firm when shifting through all 4 gears, there is no abnormal play in the shifter at all. The clutch is very strong with no slippage during heavy acceleration. The engine tempeture stays right around the 1/4 mark (normal operating temp) and does not go above that even when stopped at a stop light. The radiator fans kick in after the car is stationary for more then 3-4 minutes., , The previous owner told me he would not hesitate to drive the car cross country, after driving it for a few days myself I would agree with him. He also said that if anyone that had questions about the car that I couldn't answer, they can call him directly. So if you would like to speak to the previous owner give me a call and i will provide you with his phone number., , Electrical, The heat works great, lights work, horn works and so does the radio. The only issue i noticed was the tachometer. When you first start the car the tachometer does not work. You can either tap on the gauge a few times and it will start working, or as soon as you hit 10 mph it starts working. You can see me tapping on the gauge in the video below., , Exterior, The car was very well cared for and it definitely shows. It has been repainted at some point and it looks very good, has a very deep gloss to it. The over all paint condition is in near new condition with no clear coat or rust issues, , Dont hesitate to call or email if you have any questions 765-456-1788, PRICE: $6995, we do take trades and offer financing if needed. , Thank you for looking and have a nice day.
