1980 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo Pace Car Pontiac Historical Society documented. Nice driver local show car., , Here is a little history based on the receipts and previous owner. From the receipts it looks like it spent most of its time in New Mexico then on to New York in the late 90's. Previous owner purchased it around 2000 and drove it to Illinois from New York., , Body and Paint: Body is solid and looks good. Decals look great. Paint is shiny and smooth. The previous owner said it was repainted about 5 years ago. There is a few runs on the bottom passenger side lower rocker panel (see video). Trunk is solid and has the original space saver spare., , Drivetrain: Original motor 301 C.I. Turbo V-8. Does not appear to have ever been out of the car. Mileage on the odometer shows 34,xxx I do not believe it to be actual. There is a reciept for a transmission rebuild in the mid 90's. The engine starts easy and runs smooth. Transmission shift good., , Interior: The interior appears to be all original. Door panels, seats, dash are in very good shape for being 30 years old (see video). Carpet looks to be newer. It has the original radio which is nice, so no one has hacked up the dash. All the gauges currently work even the clock., , Wheels and tires: Wheels are in great shape and so are the tires., , Overall the car is nice. Runs and drives good. It does want to drift a little when driving probably an alignment issue from not being driven much over the last 10 years. Also included is a binder with a 1980 Indianapolis 500 magazine, window sticker, lots of PHS documentation, and a variety of reciept. This is a great car to just have fun with or take it to the next level.
