In 1993, the Lexus LS 400 underwent the first significant revisions since its arrival in 1990. Larger brakes and tires were capped with new alloy wheels, and the exterior styling and trim received a slight facelift. The most noticeable exterior changes were different side moldings and a new grille. A passenger airbag and CFC-free air conditioning system were also new. After enduring years of critical feedback regarding bland road manners, Lexus responded with suspension and power steering adjustments aimed to bolster the LS 400's performance.
