2002 Chevrolet Camaro Unknown

This B4C Camaro was the first 2-door pursuit vehicle the Florida Highway Patrol purchased after a long period of using 5.0 Mustangs ending in 1993. In 2002 the FHP purchased 200 of these B$C Camaro's. Each was identically equipped with the low profile light bar, radar units, laptops, and shotgun mounts. All units are the traditional FHP two tone colors Black/Tan. (These colors act as camouflage while sitting in the tall tan weeds in center median and the black roadway). Unit 1955 was assigned to Troop (B) in the Lake City region. It was put into service on May 10,2002 and was retired from service on August 23,2006 with 73,865 miles. This Anniversary edition was one of only 708 BC4 (police package) Camaro's produced that year and was the last year of the Camaro unitl recently. Of the Original 200 cars purchased, more than 60% were destroyed in traffic collisions. Only a handful have survivied to be restored to reflect their original Law Enforcement Heritage. Unit #1955 has all of the period correct equipment used when in service right down to the 800 MHZ antenna, shot gun rack, laptop mount and wooden mouting platform for electronics in the hatch. This equipment could not be used on any other FHP vehicle and is almost impolssible to locate. This car is strictly for show and special events.
