Available as a 3-door hatchback, 4-door sedan and wagon, Focus is the first vehicle to be built under Ford's new 2000 global development strategy. The program is designed to produce vehicles with a streamlined development and production process, with less duplication and considerable cost reductions. The all-new platform developed for the Focus will also be the basis for a number of future products, which will be sold in more than 60 countries worldwide. According to Ford's calculations, after one and a half years in production, the Focus became the best-selling car in the world.
