911 Carrera Cabriolet Convertible, Manual Transmission, Leather, 6 Disc CD/Cassette Radio, Keyless Entry! The Porsche is a brutally fast machine with road manners so refined, you feel as if you've crossed into another dimension. It's a dimension in which everything but you and the Porsche has slowed to a crawl. Under the hood -- which, of course, is in the rear -- is a 3.6-liter, 320-horsepower six-cylinder engine, replacing last year's 3.4-liter, 300-horse six-cylinder. A new variable valve timing system, similar to the one used on the 415-horsepower 911 Turbo, helps boost torque from 258 pound-feet to 273, done at a lower rpm. This means added pulling power from lower speeds, which is more evident than the increased horsepower. Appearance changes for the Carrera series are inspired by the 911 Turbo. The profile is unmistakably 911, but the headlight design, for one, stems from the Turbo. Freshly shaped at the front end, the latest 911 has a wider rear-end panel and restyled oval exhaust tailpipes. A new lockable glove box has been installed, a three-spoke steering wheel replaces the four-spoke unit, and a cupholder is integrated into the center dashboard.
