When the Dodge Stratus was introduced in May 1995, it brought distinctive design and generous interior room to the highly competitive midsize sedan market. While the Stratus was originally aimed at a very wide range of buyers, it is now positioned as a sporty coupe and sedan. Stratus occupies the middle of the Dodge passenger-car lineup, above the compact Neon and below the full-size Intrepid. The Stratus was entirely new for 2001 and introduced a coupe that shares a platform with the Mitsubishi Eclipse.
