Gas mileage averages out to 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Improvements to the '05 sedan over prior years reduced noise, vibration and harshness. NHTSA rates it five stars for safety for both driver and passenger front impact. , , Chrysler and Dodge restyled most vehicles in 2004 to bring out similarities and cohesiveness among the Chrysler group cars. To that end, the Stratus sedan received a new front fascia. It features the new "Satin Silver" finish on the center stack bezels, and door accents. Other changes include the addition of steering wheel-mounted audio controls and an auto-dimming rearview mirror, along with new door panels and new seat fabric. The interior is more like a cockpit than most mid-size cars, which gives the Stratus a sportier interior ambiance. From the driver's seat you can easily reach window and lock switches mounted on the door, much better than placing them in the center. It provides excellent outward visibility for the driver, thanks to the broad and tall expanses of window glass and relatively narrow windshield pillars. It seats five passengers with two front buckets and a folding three-place rear bench., , Camry or Accord? No. But we still think this Stratus has them beat in the looks department and most certainly beats them in price.
