2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Sport VA

The Mitsubishi Lancer combines curves, creases and angles into an attractive compact sedan package offering visual evidence of underlying dynamic capabilities. Underpinning the Lancer is the same new platform that Mitsubishi introduced beneath the 2007 Outlander. The interior was designed to emphasize roominess in a compact package. The Lancer is available in DE, ES, and GTS versions. All Lancers are equipped with seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag and side-curtain airbags. All the models (except the Evo) draw power from a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pumps out 152 horsepower. A five-speed manual transmission is standard. Suspension tuning varies, however, with the GTS getting a more aggressive setup. The 2008 Lancer also is the first Mitsubishi offered with an optional CVT (continuously variable transmission).
