2011 Audi A3 TDI FWD S-Tronic, black with black leather interior. nav, sports package, premium package, sunroof, clean history, no accidents, one owner, local car. read the following independent driver review : Audi has an enviable reputation for cars that are stylish, beautifully appointed, and fun to drive, a reputation that extends right through their line from the A8 to the A3. In recent years, they have embraced diesel power with enthusiasm, and with good reason. The fuel economy is outstanding, the performance and torque impressive, and the engine durability exceptional. They are clean diesels, too, so much so that such power is a major presence in the European market and growing in popularity in the United States., There is nothing cheap about the A3, especially in its loaded configurations, one of which I drove. The car came with steering wheel paddles and Tiptronic, which made for some fun driving. It’s hard to believe that you’re at the wheel of a diesel, so smooth is the take off and performance in traffic. A trifle more background noise, perhaps, but certainly nothing to raise an eyebrow. This is a surprisingly nimble automobile, perfectly comfortable crawling along in thick traffic, but ready to leap ahead nicely when the opportunity arises. By any standards, this is a thoroughly practical and versatile car as a daily driver, with impressive fuel economy to make it even better. The acceleration with your foot firmly down is surprisingly aggressive with impressive torque, although, of course, it doesn’t rival that of a gas-powered sports sedan. But the average driver will never notice the difference. The A3 is a fine freeway car with plenty of oomph when you need it and a high level of comfort as you devour the highway at a low fuel cost per mile. It’s surprisingly interesting to drive, and even more so when you slip into sport mode and head for the twisties. The suspension is stiffer, the gear ratios close, which makes for nice entertainment. Precise steering, the paddler shifters, and a very flexible third gear make cornering a breeze, with second for the steeper hairpins. The sure-footedness of the car makes for nice lines out of corners. I found myself using the brakes very little as I progressed along my favorite mountain highway at a very respectable average speed. One can attack corners fast and accelerate out of them quite aggressively, so much so that I forgot it was a diesel doing the work. The car is just as composed on wider country highways and is clearly able to maintain high (and illegal) speeds for long distances. , The A3 will appeal to a very broad cross-section of drivers, but especially to younger professional couples, who are looking for outstanding fuel economy, comfort, and plenty of fun. These highly durable automobiles command somewhat of a premium price when loaded, but they are clearly popular. Pre-owned examples are rare and soon vanish into desirous hands. If you see one, I’d advise you to grab it before it’s too late., This particular example has over 40,000 miles, but is in truly excellent condition and clearly has not been driven hard. It’s loaded with the premium package, a nice stereo, extended sunroof and all the goodies. If you’re looking for a long-term reliable driver, this is an excellent choice that will soldier on smoothly for tens of thousands of miles without complaint. And you can have some nice fun as well.
